Hogg, Alexander papers, 1854-1910.

This collection comprises two boxes of miscellaneous papers as well as three volumes that have been removed and placed in the Local History book collection. The papers consist of letters to Hogg dated 1871 to 1911; articles, pamphlets, and speeches by him; several biographies; and tributes and testimonials. The volumes that were removed were his book, Railroad in Education, and two volumes of the Texas & Pacific Quarterly.

Alexander Hogg was the first superintendent of the Fort Worth public schools, serving from 1882 to 1905. He was a nationally known educator, writer, and lecturer, and was the editor of the Texas & Pacific Quarterly, a literary magazine published by the T & P Railroad Company.
